Uganda has over 3 million orphans and vulnerable children

Children have been orphaned or left vulnerable because of numerous diseases, the plague or AIDS, little access to health care and the devastation of war. Though Uganda is leading in the battle to reverse the new incidence of AIDS victims, the loss of the young adult generation is paying its toll. Young children are left without the possibility of an education or much hope for their future. Elementary education is provided for all, though some fees still prevent children from attending. Secondary education is costly and only about 10% of all students are able to afford it. Though there are many agencies working in Uganda, we find orphans by the thousands who need assistance.
